Smallfolk

Smallfolk is the name given to small humanoid creatures under 5 ft, such as Halflings and Gnomes. Not be be mistaken with their more wicked cousins Goblins, Smallfolk tend to make homes for themselves in the ground, in either burrows or dens and appreciate the quiet life, often shunning the grand machinations of the large folk in favour of their books and their clockwork machines.

The only thing we ask is that you make sure that your character is the same power level as the rest of the characters on the sim. This is why we shy away from characters types like dragons as they are too powerful. Also, the lore of the world has been created with the species listed here. If you want to play another DnD race that's fine, but the lore won't exist for that creature.

Halflings

A halflings idea of heaven is a comfortable chair, a cup of tea, and a good book, preferably on a rainy afternoon. They are renowned for loving the comforts of home and because of this, often seen as unimportant  in a world where everyone wants to be a knight fighting an evil foe. But the truth is that even these diminutive creatures can play an invaluable role in the great  trails of larger folk simply because they are small and often overlooked.

Halflings make excellent rogues because of this. Sure footed and silent, they slip past their foes undetected. Although they are reluctant to leave home, they can be convinced to do so for the betterment of their community, friends and family. For a halfling, the thought of a creature suffering is almost intolerable and so it is this that has spurred the beginnings of many great halfling adventures.

There is no distinct halfling language, and all speak the common tongue (English) although some have a broad Yorkshire style accent.

Halflings do procreate readily. It is not uncommon for a halfling family to have up to five children. If you use it, you should set your ALLPA to 80%.

Gnomes

Gnomes are in love with life. Everything about the world around them excites them and this is clear if you have a conversation with one. Gnomes often find it hard to stick to one train of thought, and speak very quickly because all of the things are important and they all need to be said as quickly as possible so that we can look at that bright shiny thing over there that might work a little better if...

Gnomes are often found in their burrows tinkering away with some clockwork machine or managing to blow themselves up, again, as they try to perfect their wizz bangs or giggling uncontrollably at the prank that they are planning.

Gnomes natively speak an archaic version of the common tongue (English) that might sound a little like Welsh.

Gnomes are often too busy inventing to be bothered about procreating so their conception rates are quite low. If you use it, you should set your ALLPA to 40%.

Racial Traits

Usually between 3 and 4 ft tall

Pink, tan or greyish skin tone

Pointed ears
